Shop Policies

All packages are shipped within processing times (3-7 business days unless stated otherwise, please keep in mind processing and shipping times are not the same)

Once a package has been shipped, the only information I have is on the tracking number you have been sent. How I handle lost/delayed packages is in my policies below, please take a look at this before ordering!

If you'd like to purchase up to $100 worth of insurance for your package, please select USPS priority mail as your shipping option.

Do you offer local pickup?

Yes! If you are local to Christiansburg, Virginia, I offer local contactless porch pickup. If you choose this option, use the discount code "LOCALPICKUP" at checkout to waive any applicable shipping fees, and I will contact you by the email on your order when your order is ready. Processing time still applies to local pickup orders. Processing time is the time it takes me to pack up and get orders ready - typically 3-5 business days unless an item is made to order, or if it's a launch date where time may be extended.

I will be in contact with you to schedule a date and time for pickup. I only offer local pickup on certain weekdays between 10am and 8pm. If you use this code and do not pick them up or respond to my email within 48 hours, your order will either be cancelled and refunded, or you may be invoiced for shipping charges if those apply to your order. 

If your order has to be cancelled because of no response or failure to pay shipping fees, there will be a 10% restocking fee to cover the time and materials used on your order, as well as the fees that I incur from cancelling an order. 

If you order during the week of a launch, I do not schedule a date/time with each order…when I get all of them ready (within my processing times) I will pick 2-3 dates that I sit them out from 10am-8pm and you can come on those dates during that time to pick up your order. Please make sure you check your email for all updates regarding local pickup orders! If those dates don’t work, reply to that email to schedule a day that works! 

If you order for local pickup, please make sure you are checking your email and following these guidelines. If you no-show to pick up and I have to reach out to you, I will invoice shipping charges and/or cancel your order minus the 10% restocking fee.

Shipping and Processing For US Orders

We regularly ship to the United States. Please keep in mind that shipping can be delayed and is out of my control. We can offer expedited shipping for an additional fee, please contact us before purchasing if you want expedited shipping.

Orders typically ship within 3-7 business days of purchase, holiday season processing times are extended to 5-14 business days. Made to order pieces or launch day orders may take up to 7-14 business days to ship. Each listing has the processing time in the description if it is over my standard time. All orders are shipped through USPS and tracking will be provided for each order with the email provided. Please remember that processing times and shipping times are separate and once a package has been shipped, it is no longer in my control.

Shipping and Processing For Canada Orders

Flat rate USPS First Class international shipping to Canada is $18.25 USD and includes insurance. Please keep in mind that shipping can be delayed. We can offer expedited shipping for an additional fee, please contact us before purchasing if you want expedited shipping. Any international order subject to customs fees is the responsibility of the buyer. For international buyers, we cannot estimate customs fees.

Shipping and Processing For International (Non US/Canada) Orders

Flat rate USPS First Class international shipping is $23.25 USD and includes insurance. Priority mail is available for an additional cost. If you would like your package shipped using USPS Priority Mail, please contact me before placing your order.

There are a list of countries that USPS is not currently shipping to, this list is subject to change, and I unfortunately am not able to offer shipping to those countries. If for any unfortunate reason that you have purchased and your country is added to the list, I will refund in full.

Depending on the volume of orders I receive, some orders may take some extra time for processing, but will still fall within the 5-14 business day window. All orders are shipped through USPS and tracking will be provided for each order with the email provided.

While it doesn't happen often, if an item is defective, after pictures are sent, a refund for that item will be issued. Unfortunately, due to shipping costs, replacements will not be issued for international orders. 

Order Returned To Sender?

If your order is returned to sender, after we receive the package back to us, we can reship your package after reshipment fees have been paid (the price of the shipping option you chose at checkout) or if you choose to be refunded instead, you will be refunded the amount minus your original shipping cost and a 15% materials fee.

Delayed/Lost Packages

We are not responsible for lost packages, if you believe your package is lost, you should file a claim with USPS. Once the package has been claimed by the postal service, Lola Lou is no longer responsible for it. If you have paid for insurance and your package is lost, please contact me to move forward with filing a claim with USPS.

If your package is delayed, we follow all recommended guidelines by USPS. We will ask for you to file a missing mail report with USPS first. Keep in mind that delayed mail and lost mail are not the same. It is common for tracking to not update, and for packages to be delayed. Please keep in mind that the tracking information that you have, is the same information that we have. Any additional information would have to be from the postal service, not Lola Lou. It can take up to 30 days to find missing mail. We have a shipping option with insurance available as well. Please note that under USPS guidelines, a package is not considered lost until a claim has been filed for missing mail and it has been reported as not found. 

Do you offer insurance on packages?

Up to $100 worth of insurance is included if you choose priority mail as your shipping option for the US.

Do you offer returns and exchanges?

We do not accept returns or exchanges on any items. However, if your order is damaged upon arrival, please contact me within 7 days of delivery and send pictures for a replacement or refund. I do my best to quality check each item, but if there is ever an issue, please don't hesitate to contact me! We can’t be held responsible for items that did not arrive damaged or broken.

How do I care for my earrings?

  • Store in a cool, dry place and avoid getting them wet
  • If you have a hoop style earring, make sure that you store those with the back fastened so that the charms do not slip off of the hoop. I cannot be held responsible for lost charms.
  • Avoid dropping and storing in places like purses, where your earrings can get scratched or be crushed. 
  • Avoid using any chemicals, solvents, perfume, hairspray, and other similar sprays near the earrings
  • If they become dirty, wipe with a soft, damp cloth
  • If your piece has brass finishings, avoid water and avoid storing your earrings in direct sunlight 
    • metals will naturally tarnish when exposed to oxygen, however keeping it shiny is easy by using a jewelry polishing cloth.

Each piece is handmade which means there may be minor flaws and slight variations including small imperfections, lint, and air bubbles. By purchasing, you understand that each piece is handmade and may include minor flaws. However, if you have any issues with your earrings arriving damaged, please contact me within seven days of your order being delivered with photos.

Do you take custom order requests?

I do not take custom orders at this time. Please note: if any custom order requests are put in the notes section at checkout, aside from something that has previously been approved by me, your order may be subject to being cancelled.
