Hi! I’m Alli!

I was born and raised in Southwest Virginia, and moved to Blacksburg, VA when my husband, Tyler, attended Virginia Tech. Little did we know that this area would be where we would put down our roots! We now live in Christiansburg, VA where I run Lola Lou out of my home office with our two perfect beagle girls, Lola and Maple! My dogs are my entire world, and you’ll see a lot of them if you stick around!

I began working with clay in 2019 in secret (because if I was terrible at it NOBODY would know). I had so much fun creating and learning all about the medium. I had a background in the salon industry and makeup artistry, so I loved working with my hands and being creative. In 2020, salons shut down because of covid, and it gave me the push to start Lola Lou! I wasn’t sure if people were going to want to buy earrings in the middle of a global pandemic, but I was going to try because bills had to be paid! Throughout the months of shutdown, people were buying my earrings and I was having SO much fun. When the time came to go back to the salon, things got even busier with Lola Lou. I started toying with the idea of going full time, but that’s a scary jump to make! In May of 2021, I decided to take a chance on myself, and I officially quit my job and went full time, and I have been ever since! It was the best decision I could have ever made.

This journey has had so many ups and downs and learning experiences, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Lola Lou has expanded to more than clay earrings over time, and I’m so proud of what this business has become. I want Lola Lou to be a place where others can come and feel empowered and feel like they belong. Everyone is welcome here, and we throw compliments around like candy!

I love this Lola Lou family that we have built. It’s the best community of women who inspire and support each other every step of the way! I’m so thankful for the relationships that have been made throughout the years, those are more meaningful to me than anything.
